I’d also like to mention that Simpsons (or any “Prime-time” style) animation isn’t worse than “Superjail” style animation: just different. Squash and stretch is awesome, but it doesn’t necessarily fit with the writing style of those shows. With punchy dialogue, having over-exaggeration in animation can be distracting. It’s not black and white, people.

I worked on a show last year done by the incredible team of Six Point Harness, an American animation company that used Flash, and they did (and continue to do) absolutely beautiful work.

My first animation (before Cloth). The quality is awful because I used the pencil tester, transferred the VHS to DVD, then edited it in Final Cut. The joke was something Brian Carroll and I laughed about years ago.

This started out as an idea for a comic, but when I took an animation class I decided to take this on instead. There are only a few really great moments (the opening and the “crazy eye” stuff) and the rest kinda sucks, but it was something that took a LOT of time, especially since I drew every frame. Originally going to be part one of a trilogy, but the idea of part two eventually became the comic book ROPE.

This is the newest trailer for GOOD VIBES, the animated show I’m an executive assistant / writer’s assistant on.  We premiere October 27th on MTV, paired up with the new Beavis and Butthead.  Been working on this for over a year, really excited to show it off!  Also, for you animation buffs, this is all done in FLASH by a company called Six Point Harness.

Some announcements: I will have Eros Inc. prints and originals up at the WE LOVE WEBCOMICS show in San Francisco, at the Double Punch Gallery. I will be in attendance opening night, which this Saturday (August 6th) at 7pm. Can you make it? I’ll be signing comics and prints, as well as bringing some Eros Inc. buttons and such.
