THE COMMON CULT Episode four premiered today! This one is one of my favorites, so if you haven’t watched an episode yet, definitely give this one a look.

I hate asking this, but I would also really appreciate it if you guys shared this around. The truth is I’m very proud of this show; proud of the cast for putting so much talent and energy into this for no pay (we did cover their food :) ), proud of my co-producers Chris and Alex for pulling double (and in Chris’ case as editor, triple) duty working in front and behind the camera, and proud of these episodes and what we’re trying to do long-term. There are only two more episodes left of season one, so now’s as good a time as any to jump in and enjoy the ride.

Thank you all so much for your support!!

Episode two of “The Common Cult” premiered today! The web series (that I wrote, and co-produced with some of the actors) is about five friends in their thirties who are also in a Lovecraftian blood cult trying to summon an Old God to their plane of existence. This episode features everyone deciding on what Old One they’d like to call forth.

After the success of Mermates, my co-producers and I are doing a new web series (that I also wrote/created) called The Common Cult. It’s about five friends in their thirties, who have known each other since high school. They’re also in a Lovecraftian blood cult trying to raise an Old God to our plane of existence. Here’s episode one!

Our next web series is “The Common Cult,” a comedy about five friends in their thirties. Oh, and they’ve in a ritualistic, Lovecraftian blood cult. We’re trying to fund the show on Kickstarter and we really need your help.

We have some great rewards, like Mermates and The Common Cult DVDs, comics (yes, I am writing and drawing original stories), exclusive Nan Lawson prints, special customized “thank you” videos sung by one of our cast members, and more! High end rewards include a “Common Cult”-themed pizza party and the creation of a Great Old God (just for you), including instructions on how to raise said deity (and a letter discouraging you from doing so).

There are free ways to help, like reblogging this post, tweeting about the project, sharing on Facebook, seriously, tons of ways, and they’d all be appreciated. At the very least, I hope you enjoyed the video. It was a lot of fun to write and produce it, and now that I’m sitting on six finished scripts, I cannot wait to get started on this new show. It’s really going to be something special.
